igbeats started for a boring reason: we kept seeing the same pair of earbuds listed at “80% off” on three different sites, at three different prices, none of which had anything to do with the printed MRP. So we started writing the real numbers down — with the date.
What we actually do
We track products across Indian marketplaces — Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Myntra, Nykaa, Ajio and others. For every product we publish, a person opens the listing, notes the price and the date, checks the seller, the warranty and the return window, and compares it with what we have seen before. Every price on the site carries the date it was checked, and anything older than 30 days is flagged. Read how we verify prices.
How we make money — plainly
igbeats is free to read and we do not sell your data. We earn money in two ways, and we label both:
- Affiliate commissions. When you click a buy button and purchase, the store may pay us a small commission. You pay the same price either way.
- Sponsored placements. Brands can pay for a clearly labelled Sponsored or Paid Partnership slot — for example a sponsored product card, a sponsored article or a newsletter mention. These always sit in separate, labelled spaces.
What we will never do
- Show a struck-through MRP and call the difference a “saving” without telling you what MRP means.
- Use fake countdown timers, fake stock counters or invented “only 2 left” pressure.
- Publish a price without the date it was checked.
- Claim we tested something hands-on when we did not — every guide says whether it is hands-on or research-based.
- Hide an advertisement inside editorial content.
When we get it wrong
Prices change every hour in Indian e-commerce. If you find something wrong or stale, tell us on the contact page — we correct or remove it, usually the same day. Read our corrections policy.
